What to expect during your first visit

We understand that visiting an ocularist for the first time may bring questions. Our team is here to help you understand the process and feel prepared.

During your initial visit, we will discuss your history, evaluate your prosthetic needs, and explain the services or next steps that may be appropriate for you.

Before your appointment, please bring:

- your current prosthesis, if you have one.

- relevant referral information and records, if availible.

- your insurance information and any required authorization or prescription

Let us know about recent surgeries or changes in comfort, fit, or retention.

Insurance and Payment Options

We understand that navigating insurance benefits and the cost of ocular prosthetic care can be challenging.

Our office can discuss the documentation and billing requirements associated with your care. Insurance coverage, referral requirements, authorizations, and out-of-pocket expenses vary by plan and individual circumstances.

Financing through Cherry

Financing options may be available through Cherry for eligible patients, subject to the provider's terms and approval requirements. For more information please visit withcherry.com/consumers

Please contact our office to discuss the estimated cost of your recommended services, available payment options, and any questions about insurance documentation. Please be advised that in most cases, we do not discuss the price of a custom made prosthetic/scleral shell/maxillofacial appliance over the phone. Every patient's situation is unique, and we are unable to quote a price until the patient is evaluated.
